Privacy

What this site stores, why, and how to get it back or get rid of it.

The short version

There are no analytics scripts, no advertising networks and no third-party trackers on this site. Nothing follows you between sites. Your IP address is not logged. The counts a maker sees are per pitch per day with no identifier attached, so there is no record of who looked at anything — including for me.

What is stored

Your account
Sign-in is handled by Clerk, and your email address stays with them. This site stores an identifier for your Clerk account plus what you put on your maker page: handle, display name, picture, bio, website and any social handles you add.
What you pitch
Everything you submit — name, tagline, link, category, tags, the pitch itself and any image. It is published, which is the point of submitting it.
Counts
Impressions, page views and outbound clicks, totalled per pitch per day. No identifier is stored with them and they cannot be traced to a person. Only the pitch's own maker sees them.
Reports and enquiries
A report keeps its reason, and your account identifier if you were signed in. A sponsorship enquiry keeps the name, email address and anything else you type into that form.
Bids
Your account identifier, the pitch, the amount and the time.

Your IP address

Forms are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which needs your IP address to judge whether a submission came from a person. It is passed to Cloudflare for that check and is not stored by this site.

Who else processes it

  • Cloudflare — hosting, the database, image storage, the bot check and the model that screens submissions.
  • Clerk — accounts and sign-in, and where email addresses for account holders live.
  • Resend — sending the email this site sends: a decision on your pitch, an auction result, or a sponsor round opening.

Cookies

Only the ones Clerk sets to keep you signed in. There are no analytics or advertising cookies, so there is nothing to consent to and no banner asking you to. If you pick light or dark rather than following the system, that choice stays in this browser and is never sent to the server.

How long it is kept

A published pitch stays until you withdraw it. A withdrawn pitch keeps a marker that it existed, because the submission limit would otherwise reset every time somebody deleted and resubmitted. Sponsorship enquiries are kept while the list is live. Counts are kept as daily totals.

What you can ask for

A copy of what is held about you, a correction, deletion, or a copy in a portable form; and you can object to processing. Write to the address above and I will do it myself — there is nobody else to pass it to. If you are not satisfied you can complain to Datatilsynet, the Norwegian Data Protection Authority.
