I made SiteMute because I got tired of clicking the same websites I already knew I didn’t want to visit. It’s a Chrome extension for anyone who wants a little more control over their search results. You can mute websites you don’t like, fade or hide them from Google, Bing and DuckDuckGo, and if you still want the story, SiteMute can help you find another source instead. I originally built it for myself, mostly out of frustration with repeatedly ending up on sites I’d rather avoid. Then it turned into something useful enough that I figured other people might want it too. No account, no backend, no tracking. Just a small tool that makes browsing a little less annoying.
